On October 26th, 2021 Hawkmoon Resources Corp. (HM-CSE) reported that it is starting a 10-hole (1,000m) drilling program on its 48-claim (2,449-ha) Lava Gold Property located ~20km west of the town of Belleterre in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of NW Québec. The Lava Gold Property covers the Lavallée 38, 39, 40 and 41 Showings, which expose multiple quartz veins, breccias and stockworks within the NE trending Lavallée Shear Zone (“LSZ”) located within a granodiorite (trondhjémite) pluton. The Property is located to the west of the Belleterre gold mining camp where Vior Inc. has assembled a large land package and advancing its Belleterre district-scale 531-claims (29,129-ha) Belleterre Gold Project. Vior has consolidated a potential highly prospective mining camp (historically highly compartmentalized) with both brownfield and greenfield potential (see : https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/vior-inc-vio-v-belleterre-project-set-advance-new-solid-eric-lemieux/ and https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/soci%C3%A9t%C3%A9-vior-inc-vio-v-assembling-land-package-good-eric-lemieux/).
Hawkmoon’s 10-hole drill program shall target the LSZ over a 400-m horizontal strike distance down to a maximum vertical depth 100m. Hawkmoon has retained a geophysical consultant to complete 2-D modelling of a 2007 IP (induced polarization) and resistivity survey. This interpretation work has precisely defined a chargeability zone that appears to correspond to the downward extent of the LSZ on surface. Hawkmoon’s drilling shall test the chargeability zone for gold mineralization at regular intervals along the trend of the LSZ. It is to be noted that only one of three holes drilled in this area in 2007 intersected the LSZ. An interval returned up to 11.4m @ 0.6 g/t Au over from ~10m depth while 2 holes missed the zone.
Hawkmoon sets in motion this new drill program on the Lava Gold Project within only 2 months of completing a >5,030m drilling at its flagship Wilson project near Lebel-sur-Quévillon in the Urban-Barry greenstone belt (see: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/hawkmoon-resources-corp-hm-cse-cartier-inc-ecr-v-drills-eric-lemieux/).

Hawkmoon intersects a prospective gold zone in all ten drill holes on the Lava Gold Property, Belleterre Gold Camp, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Québec
On November 11, 2021 Hawkmoon Resources Corp. (HM-CSE) reported that it has completed a 10-hole (1,005m) drilling program on its 48-claim (2,449-ha) Lava Gold Property located ~20km west of the town of Belleterre in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of NW Québec. The Lava Gold Property hosts the Lavallée 38, 39, 40 and 41 historical showings. Collectively, these showings expose multiple quartz veins, breccias and stockwork quartz veins within the NE striking Lavallée Shear Zone (“LSZ”). Regional bedrock geology is composed of volcanics and gabbro in the southern portions with tonalite in the northern portions of the property.
We understand the drill program successfully intersected the LSZ in all 10 drill holes with apparent widths of the LSZ ranging from ~10 to ~30 m. The drill program targeted the LSZ over a 400 m strike length down to a maximum true vertical depth of 100 m and suggests the LSZ on Lava Gold Property appears to be open both to the NE and SW and remains open at depth. Mineralization with silicification alteration in the LSZ is present as multiple altered quartz veins mineralized with sulphide minerals present as stringers, semi-massive or massive. We note that the quartz veins are reported to have measured up to 4 m-wide
Hawkmoon is focused entirely on its three Quebec gold projects. The Wilson and Romeo properties are situated in the heart of the Abitibi Greenstone Belt (see: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/hawkmoon-resources-corp-hm-cse-cartier-inc-ecr-v-drills-eric-lemieux/). The Lava property is located in the Belleterre gold camp, situated just south of the Abitibi. All Hawkmoon’s gold projects are accessible by government-maintained roads.
